The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), while announcing that 100 media reporters have been killed, has noted that the number of those killed are expected to increase in future. Although the international labor standards have been formally presented for the proper guidance of the journalists and on the basis of those standards media organizations are required to take measures for giving awareness at the time of risk, life insurance and, free treatment to reporters, however, such an inclusive issue have not included all the organizations as well as the journalists ((freelancer or part-time journalists).
Of course, the issue of safety of the journalist is a complicated issue. This complexity returns to the type of the work of the reporter. In fact, a safe environment for a journalist at time when there are crisis is unattainable. This complexity increases when it refers to two types of wars: the classic war and the all-out war.
The news coverage of clashes in the media with regard to the life safety of the journalist has a direct impact on one of the important concepts of journalism, i.e. “justice and respect for neutrality.”
The basic question arises as to whether the war correspondent can be an unbiased, fair, and impartial observer?
