The paper deals with ethnography in terms of method. To this end, first the origin and definition of this approach of the research is taken into consideration and then reference has been made to its characteristics.
The paper refers to various ethnographies or common classifications in this regard and follows the relevant patterns in this area. Methods and techniques of ethnography is another part of the paper below which field work, selection and sampling, entering the field, participatory observation, interview, calibration, other techniques and analysis have been described.
The paper then deals with ethnography in communications and shows its executive extent in this area. Several research works have been conducted in the area of communications on the basis of ethnography approach some of which have been pointed out here in terms of method. In conclusion the paper provides a brief assessment of this research approach
