Social network sites products of web 2 technologies. Most of social networks have created a mechanism that enables users to send a message to their friends profile. One of the researchers has intended to analyse the situation of the Iranian users in the social networks, and also take their opinion about the social networks in iran, for that purpose he designed a questionary and put it in a professional poll website named polldaddy. In the first 15 days, 1750 users have filled this questionary through an internet campaign from the www. reporter web site (this site has 10.000 viewers everyday). In average 110 users have filled this questionary every day. he also sent the questionary link through emails and cell phone and the iranian communication e-news letter to the users.
The main reason for this research was to mesure the influence of the social sites included in this research in the iranian users and the effects of this sites on the social and political developments specially in the 2009 iranian presidential elections and aftermath. Other reason for this research was comparing the different social networks and their popularty among iranian users. Finally the researchers obtained the results they wanted. The results of this research shows that 78 percent of the iranian users are members of one of this social sites. Most of users who participated in this research had a wblog and sufficient knowledge about the social sites. Most of participants also said that through this social networks they found their friends and communicated with them.
The participants say most of them used the sites to find the latest news and interchange political views between other users. There is a significant link between the membership of the users and the active presence of the Iranians in the social networks.
