Thinking globally is a multidimensional concept and reviewing it indicates the degree of readiness of human resources, as a fundamental component in the globalization process, to enter into or continue this process. It also helps researchers to predict the future trend of globalization. On this basis, the study reviews the global thinking level of Tehrani users of Facebook, one of the most popular social media networks among all Web 2 technologies. The research methodology has been social survey and online questionnaires used as research tools. Since the highest number of memberships in social networks and the highest amount of access to Internet in Iran is devoted to Tehrani users, these questionnaires have been specifically distributed among virtual space users who have been members of the Facebook and Tehran residents.
The research findings indicate that on the whole the under study global thinking users are at a high level. Distinctly, in the economic global thinking, the users’ credits are accumulated in the “middle class” and in legal-political and cultural-social fields in the “high” class. Also, the controversialness of the issue in legal-political field, its costliness in the economic field and privateness in cultural-social field are among factors which can ensue reduction of global thinking level in that field.
